Introduction to the correct use of various automobile lamps

Date:2021-08-20Category:Industry NewsClick:370

There are many kinds of car lights, and the use of car lights is directly related to safe driving. It is particularly important to understand and use the lights correctly. Today, Xiaobian sorted out the skills of using car lights correctly.

Usage of driving lamp, high beam lamp and low beam lamp

1. Driving lights:

The driving lamp is also called the side marker lamp. Its function is to make the four corners of the vehicle visible, and its brightness is not as high as that of the headlamp. This light should be turned on when it is rainy, dark or in the underground parking lot. When the driving light is on, the sign as shown in the figure will be on the instrument panel.

2. High beam and low beam:

The illumination height of the high beam lamp is higher than that of the low beam lamp, so it can illuminate higher and farther objects. Low beam lamps are generally used on roads illuminated by street lamps. High beam lamps are used on roads without lighting, and they are often used to illuminate road signs above distant roads. The purpose of communicating with other drivers can be realized through different ways of changing the high and low beams.

When we meet, if we use the high beam, the other driver will be unable to see the road and judge the exact position of your vehicle due to the strong light, which will increase the probability of accidents. Therefore, when meeting, if the high beam is turned on, it should be switched to the low beam. If the other vehicle uses high beam, you can quickly change the high and low beams to remind the driver of the coming vehicle.

Usage of turn signal lamp, fog lamp and double flashing lamp

3. Turn signal lamp:

As the name suggests, the turn signal is used to indicate that the vehicle needs to turn. When the vehicle needs to turn, the steering light must be turned on in advance, and the vehicle can turn only when it is confirmed that there is no vehicle coming behind. It is forbidden to turn immediately after turning on the light without confirming the situation behind. Before overtaking, turn on the left turn signal and confirm that the conditions for overtaking are met before overtaking. If the rear vehicle has the intention of overtaking, you can signal the rear vehicle to overtake by turning on the right turn signal. For turning around or turning lane in front of traffic lights, unless it is a platoon, it is not necessary to turn on the turn signal all the time. It is not too late to turn on the turn signal when the vehicle is turning.

When do I need to turn on the turn signal

Warm tip: turning on the turn signal is mainly to inform the rear vehicles that they are about to turn and should pay attention to avoidance. Therefore, when preparing to turn, turn on the light 10-20 seconds in advance to leave enough time for the driver behind to react.

Precautions for use of turn signal lamp

(1). Turn off double flashing and turn again (no steering priority function)

Many models do not have the steering priority function, so if you want to turn when you turn on the double flash, you should turn off the double flash first and then turn on the turn signal switch.

(2). It can quickly identify whether the turn signal lamp is faulty

Turn signal lamps are divided into contact flashers and contactless flashers. When the contact type steering lamp fails, the corresponding steering indicator on the instrument panel will not flash, while when the contactless steering lamp fails, the flashing frequency of the corresponding instrument indicator will accelerate. Therefore, the owner should pay more attention to the flashing frequency change of the flash indicator during driving. If the above phenomenon occurs, it indicates that the flash is faulty.

4. Fog lamp

The penetration of the fog lamp is much stronger than that of the driving lamp, and its power is similar to that of the headlamp. Therefore, in foggy days, rainstorms, heavy snow and dust storms, we should turn on the front and rear fog lamps of the vehicle, so that other vehicles can see your car further away.

Where fog lamps are required

(1) When it rains cats and dogs

When the rain is pouring down, the driver's line of sight is easy to be blurred. Sometimes, it is difficult to judge the surrounding situation. At this time, you can consider turning on the fog light to remind the drivers around you of your existence

(2) In case of haze

There is no need to talk about it in foggy days. It is necessary to turn on the fog lamp in order not to hit others and not to be hit by others.

However, it should be noted that because the fog lamp is brighter than ordinary lamps and has strong scattering, if it is indiscriminately lit when it is not necessary, it will only interfere with the sight of other drivers, especially the sight of cars coming from the opposite side. If it is serious, it may cause car accidents.

As can be seen from the above figure, the fog light is divergent and has a large emission angle, so it has good penetration and identification. Due to its low emission angle, the low beam lamp can only illuminate the nearby road. In case of rain, fog, dust storm and other weather, its penetration and identification are not as good as that of the fog lamp.

5. Double flashing lamp

The double flashing lamp is also called "hazard warning lamp". In case of emergency, the lamp should be turned on through the corresponding switch. When the vehicle breaks down and stops at the roadside, in addition to the double flashing light, a triangular reflector shall be set up about 200m behind the vehicle to warn the incoming vehicles to avoid rear end collision accidents. Another function of the double flashing light is to identify the vehicles in the fleet and let other vehicles know that the fleet will pass.

Under what circumstances do you need to use double flashing lights

1. During temporary parking

Temporary parking without double flashing is difficult for other vehicles to find you. When he finds you, he often has no time to step on the brake. Therefore, the temporary parking must remember: turn on the "double flash" in time.

2. In case of vehicle failure or traffic accident

In case of vehicle failure or traffic accident, the vehicle is either parked in the middle of the road or moving slowly. If the "double flashing" is not turned on in time, the vehicles coming back will not be able to judge the situation of the vehicles in front, especially when the road vehicles are crowded, which is easy to cause serial traffic accidents.

In addition, when this happens, the owner should not only turn on the double flashing light, but also set up a triangular reflector about 200m behind the vehicle to warn the incoming vehicles to avoid rear end collision accidents.

3. Traction failure of motor vehicle

The speed of the towing vehicle is slow. If the vehicle behind cannot see that the vehicle ahead is towing and mistakenly thinks that it is driving normally, it may follow behind for a long time without knowing that the road ahead is actually very smooth, resulting in traffic congestion and even rear end collision.
